GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 749357
clearer indication software updates are being installed
Last modified: 2016-02-22 22:54:25 UTC
While this is technically a plymouth bug, we should do a better job indicating that software updates are being installed. Currently a number of real world anctdoces demonstrate that people think their system is stuck booting and power it off, damaging the rpm database. So we do something like this now, albeit not as sexy.
Indeed, F23 boot up screen even shows a percentage progress while the updates are being downloaded and installed.
