Hi When i want open nautilus this error happened : $ nautilus (nautilus:2774): GLib-GIO-CRITICAL **: g_dbus_interface_skeleton_unexport: assertion 'interface_->priv->connections != NULL' failed (nautilus:2774): GLib-GIO-CRITICAL **: g_dbus_interface_skeleton_unexport: assertion 'interface_->priv->connections != NULL' failed Could not register the application: Timeout was reached (nautilus:2774): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_icon_theme_get_for_screen: assertion 'GDK_IS_SCREEN (screen)' failed (nautilus:2774): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: invalid (NULL) pointer instance (nautilus:2774): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_signal_connect_object: assertion 'G_TYPE_CHECK_INSTANCE (instance)' failed But there is one process : $ ps aux | grep nautius ali 2524 0.0 0.3 780388 28120 ? Sl 21:09 0:00 /usr/bin/nautilus --gapplication-service ... that when i kill it and try again to open nautilus, everything is ok ! $ (nautilus:2983): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: The property GtkSettings:gtk-button-images is deprecated and shouldn't be used anymore. It will be removed in a future version. (nautilus:2983): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: The property GtkSettings:gtk-menu-images is deprecated and shouldn't be used anymore. It will be removed in a future version. Nautilus-Share-Message: Called "net usershare info" but it failed: 'net usershare' returned error 255: info_fn: file /var/lib/samba/usershares/win xp is not a well formed usershare file. info_fn: Error was Path is not a directory. I use debian testing and gnome-shell 3.14.4-1 and nautilus 3.14.4-1.
Bug replicated for Nautilus (Files) on GNOME 3.18 on Fedora 23 and GNOME 3.20.3 on Fedora 24. Nautilus randomly takes several minutes to load or does not load at all. This can happen both after a fresh restart or after waking from sleep. Bug started to appear after switching from SSD to HDD. Killing Nautilus process in System Monitor and opening as Files in the Gnome 3.20.3 Activities UI temporarily fixes the loading bug.

GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org. As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately quite limited so not every ticket can get handled). If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent and supported software version of Files (nautilus), then please follow https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines and create a new ticket at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/nautilus/-/issues/ Thank you for your understanding and your help.
