I just upgraded my operating system to Xubuntu 15.04.  After the upgrade, Banshee no longer works.  The UI window opens, but never renders (just a solid grey always).  I added the Banshee ppa for vivid, but when it tries to poll for updates, it says it can't find the url.  What might be the problem?

Well, now this is a different defect.  If I let the UI sit for long enough (a half hour or so), then it does eventually load.  However, everything is incredibly slow.  Clicking from Now Playing to Music took 10 minutes to transfer.  Menus seem to operate just fine (I could alter preferences and make new playlist), but all other navigation is incredibly slow.  When switching, the CPU clocks in around 50%.  This is comparable to when Banshee is simply idling.

I have attached the debug log of loading Banshee.  If you need more data, I can also send logs of clicking around Banshee - however, I suspect that whatever errors are being thrown and caught and thrown and caught are the same throughout the system.

From the log I can see that some queries are taking very long to execute. So I wonder if this could be a duplicate of bug 740879?

I think you are correct.  The symptoms match up, and the timing of when the queries are slow also would make sense (videos tend to be fine, but music is much slower).  Particularly considering the recent upgrade to Xubuntu 15.04 (which I imagine upgraded SQLite), a well as the discussion with the 2.6 backport (which I am still running the current stable, 2.6.2) it looks like this is indeed a duplicate.
