GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 74760
Adding Keybindings with cursors keys or Delete doesn't work / Strange display in menu of key bindings with Shift
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
When I was a small child, I get used to the Windows 3.x Shift-Delete for Cut. But equal to which modifier I press when hovering with mouse over a menu item, pressing Delete just deletes the actual binding. And when I tried to assign Alt-Up to Go->Up also nothing happens. IMHO there should be another way to define key bindings than with the default GTK+ way, because that isn't sufficient enough. Another strange thing that happened in the context of key bindings, was, that when I pressed Ctrl-Shift-. (which is Ctrl-> in fact), Galeon showed me Shift-Ctrl->, although IMHO it should show either Shift-Ctrl-. or Ctrl->, but not Shift-Ctrl->, because I didn't held two shift keys down. ;-) P.S.: Thanks for Galeon, it replaced Opera, Konqueror and Mozilla for me. It's just the perfect union of all cool features of those browsers with dropping all those unnecessarities like mail clients, news clients, chat clients, im clients, html editors, etc. :-)
WONTFIX untill gtk moves to another accel mechanism
As a workaround, editing $HOME/.gnome/accels/galeon appropriately helps with the Shift-Delete issue.
