GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 741867
Bookmark manager is unusable with a mouse
Last modified: 2016-09-28 15:53:57 UTC
With Epiphany 3.14.2 and GTK+ 3.14.6, the bookmarks manager cannot be navigated with a mouse alone. After selecting a bookmark with the mouse, you cannot select any other bookmark with the mouse unless it is to switch to a different bookmark category (but you can navigate bookmarks with the keyboard). After selecting a bookmark category with the mouse, you can't select another bookmark category ever. Note: when I say "can't," I mean that it is extremely difficult to do so. It's possible, but either the click target is astoundingly small, or it only works randomly and rarely.

It's not random. If I right click on CategoryA, I can left click on CategoryB once. Then I have to right click on CategoryB before I can left click on CategoryC and so on. Using the File menu also lefts me get one free left click again.
Any updates regarding this? :) Or better yet, any way to trace what is breaking?
There is an active GSoC project to replace this dialog. Stay tuned. :)

Note: we're not going to fix this because we have removed this dialog in a development branch; hopefully 3.22 will be the last broken release.

(In reply to Michael Catanzaro from comment #6) > Note: we're not going to fix this because we have removed this dialog in a > development branch; hopefully 3.22 will be the last broken release. And it's exactly the version that will be frozen in the new Debian Stable for another two years!
(In reply to Andrey Pivovarov from comment #8) > And it's exactly the version that will be frozen in the new Debian Stable > for another two years! Shame, if someone figures out what's wrong I'm happy to backport a fix to gnome-3-22. Anyway, as of today this dialog no longer exists in master, so closing.
