screenshot of the date line missing

When the calendar pop-down in gnome-shell is viewed for the first time, the date line above the calendar is not visible.

If the pop-down is closed then reopened, the calendar line is visible.

To reproduce:
1. Restart gnome-shell
2. open the calendar pop-down by clicking on the time in the top middle of the shell topbar.

On further inspection of the screenshot, it appears the text is not invisible, but black.
