GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 741493
No video thumbnails
Last modified: 2015-01-02 19:19:42 UTC
Created attachment 292675 [details] Log file Since the switch to gnome 3.14, shotwell 0.20 erased all my video thumbnails and can't generate new good ones (even when importing new videos). I get this error message in shotwell.log : L 8106 2014-12-13 23:10:22 [DBG] VideoSupport.vala:224: Launching thumbnailer process: /usr/lib/shotwell/shotwell-video-thumbnailer L 8106 2014-12-13 23:10:22 [DBG] VideoSupport.vala:231: Spawned thumbnailer, child pid: 8260 L 8106 2014-12-13 23:10:23 [DBG] VideoSupport.vala:248: Error creating pixbuf: Format d'image non reconnu ('Format d'image non reconnu' should translate to 'Unknown image format'). A complete log of an import with a video file is joined.
I forgot to tell I'm on arch linux.
I don't have any video thumbnails either, except my shotwell.log looks different: L 599 2014-12-30 12:27:49 [MSG] main.vala:385: Shotwell Gestionnaire de photos 0.20.2 L 599 2014-12-30 12:27:50 [MSG] main.vala:43: Verifying database ... L 599 2014-12-30 12:27:54 [MSG] VideoSupport.vala:429: offline video thumbnail regeneration completed L 599 2014-12-30 12:27:54 [MSG] VideoSupport.vala:418: normal video thumbnail regeneration completed
Can you pull from master and try again? I'm curious if bug #718989 solves this for you.
Seems to be working : - Created a new user - git clone - configure - make - ran git version of shotwell - imported a video ==> thumbnail Ok - closed shotwell - launched previous version of shotwell - lost thumbnail - closed shotwell - deleted .cache/shotwell/thumbs - ran git version of shotwell again - thumbnail regenerated and ok Thanks!
