GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 741170
with dual screen, activity overview jumbles all windows on one screen
Last modified: 2021-07-05 14:23:27 UTC
From the downstream bug: "i have an external display for my notebook, which is sometimes connected, some other times is not. after i connect it and then disconnect it, the windows do no longer fit in their place, and sometimes i've seen things like"windows" key no longer working, or "windows" never coming out of preview. this also may be or not related to the extremely slow runnign of yum, sometimes." I see this in a wayland session when I make the second monitor primary. It doesn't seem to happen in a normal x11 session. If I change the monitor settings back so the first monitor is primary, the overview works properly. $ xrandr Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 3840 x 1200, maximum 8192 x 8192 XWAYLAND0 connected 1920x1200+0+0 520mm x 320mm 1920x1200@0.1Hz 0.00*+ XWAYLAND1 connected 1920x1200+1920+0 520mm x 320mm 1920x1200@0.1Hz 0.00*+

Sorry, wrong bug!
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org. As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately quite limited so not every ticket can get handled). If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent and supported software version, then please follow https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines and create a new ticket at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/issues/ Thank you for your understanding and your help.
