GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 740817
Hang on save
Last modified: 2014-11-28 16:05:16 UTC
This bug can be reliably reproduced: Open an image and export it. Create a new folder in the gimp save dialogue and enter it, but do not save. In an explorer window (ie: not from within GIMP), delete that new folder. Gimp now hangs. I shut it down via task manager, losing all the work I was trying to save. I'd say that's a pretty hefty bug, albeit reliant on ignorance.
On Linux, this does not happen, whether on master or gimp-2-8 branch. I get this error when I try to save in the now-deleted directory: "Error when getting information for file '/home/jehan/Documents/test': No such file or directory" I only tried GIMP master on Windows. And I also get the same error. No hanging. I did not try to rebuild gimp-2-8 for win though. So sadly I could not reproduce, unless this is a GIMP-2.8-on-Win only issue.
I guess this is a duplicate of bug 723979.
Since the description is virtually identical it must be a duplicate. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 723979 ***
