strange spacing when pinned / pushed

i recently received the new version of evince, which comes with the new header bar.

i currently work on my laptop which has a very low resolution (1366x768) and i am used to 'pin' evince to the left half of my screen and a terminal to the right half.

but since the header bar update evince's minimum window width is bigger than half of my screen, therefore it cannot be pinned to one side.

this only happens while viewing a PDF, if i just open evince the min. window size is smaller and it allows me to pin it, but it has same rather strange spacing around the window.
