see window on upper right

recently geary has begun to open only a small window with nothing inside it. i'm on ubuntu 14.04 lts.
Comment 1 rob loranger 2014-09-28 22:37:00 UTC
it's gone after a restart.. should have tried that first. sorry :)
Comment 2 rob loranger 2014-10-05 16:35:21 UTC
The issue has recurred, again if i restart my session it is fine. what should i do to diagnose the issue?
Comment 3 Jim Nelson 2014-10-07 20:43:24 UTC
If you run dconf-editor (you may need to install it), can you tell me the values at org/yorba/geary window-height, window-width, and window-maximize?
Comment 4 rob loranger 2014-10-07 23:42:42 UTC
currently window-height is 741, window-maximize is unchecked and window-width is 1644.

the window is currently displayed correctly. i presume of more value will be the same information when the issue presents itself again.
Comment 5 Jim Nelson 2014-10-08 00:18:44 UTC
Yes, please let us know what these values are when the window doesn't display correctly.
Comment 6 rob loranger 2014-10-25 15:45:19 UTC
ok, it happened again. Window height/width are both 200 and maximize is unchecked. the window is not resizeable and contains nothing. closing and reopening geary does not fix it. only a session restart. which i will not do yet in case you need more info. :)
Comment 7 Jim Nelson 2014-10-28 18:55:18 UTC
I now believe your problem is a duplicate of another issue, which is fixed in master: bug #737811 Is there any chance you can build from git master and test to see if this fixes your problem?

*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 737811 ***
Comment 8 rob loranger 2014-11-01 02:26:21 UTC
i have built from master and will see if this issue persists.
Comment 9 rob loranger 2014-11-07 04:35:15 UTC
the issue is still present for me in master v 0.8.1. values are again 200px x 200px and not maximized. with this build the window is just a white box, no borders. previously there was the standard top window bar with x button.

this build also seems to be missing the typical x button from unity when operating properly. there is instead a different square button on the far left of the toolbar.

it appears that with this build i can not resize the window at all, even when the application is working. the window resize points will not appear with the mouse.

Hi Rob, does what you are experiencing seem like Bug 763961? In particular, does this happen when Geary is set to "Always watch for new mail" in the preferences?

Closing this bug report as no further information has been provided. Please feel free to reopen this bug report if you can provide the information that was asked for in a previous comment.
