Budget view wider than needed; need to scroll to see totals

When I open a budget and keep the window open when closing and starting gnucash again, the budget "table" becomes wider and seeing the complete total column requires scrolling. The first time opening it did not require scrolling, so there should be enough space. See the attached image.

When I make the account column narrower everything except the totals column comes to the left, so I end up with a very wide totals column that still requires scrolling to the right to view properly.

I can get the total width right, so it doesn't show the scrollbars but that requires me to make the account name column narrower, reduce the window size, quit gnucash, start gnucash and return to the original window size, though doing that's a nuisance. Especially since the budget view becomes wider every time.

The version I am using is gnucash 2.6.3 rev 4e4a032+ on Debian unstable.

I already mentioned this on IRC at 03-08-2014, where it was suggested that I should file this bug report.

When comparing the saved files from gnucash I see that the name_width for the budgets is incremented by 15 each and every time I restart:
