GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 732653
Undo doesn't restore cell comments
Last modified: 2018-05-03 17:52:50 UTC
Hi, I found that cell comments aren't restored when you paste another cell over the cell with the comment and then press CTRL + Z to undo. But when deleting the cell with the comment, the comment is restored when pressing CTRL+Z. So only Copy and Paste causes trouble. This bug should occur only in quite recent versions (1.12.16/1.12.17), since some changes to undo code were made I think. To reproduce: 1. Open gnumeric with a new sheet. 2. Write a cell comment in cell A1 3. Goto B1 and press CTRL + C 4. Goto A1 and press CTRL + V 5. Then Press CTRL + Z to undo last step. On my computer then the cell comment isn't restored. And I think I need to thank for your good work always. This seems otherwise to be a very unthankfully job: just getting bug reports and no thanks for all the work. :-)
Hi, do you think you can fix this? Just thought you could have forgotten this bug, because I got no reply. And it's quite annoying when you can accidentally delete cell comments forever.
Bugzilla never forgets. We'll get around to it eventually.
"eventually" arrived. This problem has been fixed in our software repository. The fix will go into the next software release. Once that release is available, you may want to check for a software upgrade provided by your Linux distribution.
