GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 729201
IMAP Namespace Problem
Last modified: 2015-03-09 12:45:08 UTC
Since I've updated Evolution from 3.8.5 to 3.12.1, IMAP doesn't work any more. In the list of all accounts in the main window, the IMAP accounts can't be expanded any more. Instead, at the right side of the line there is an icon with two gray arrows pointing left and right. When starting Evolution at the console, I get the following error message for each of my IMAP accounts: (evolution:32320): camel-imapx-CRITICAL **: fetch_folder_info_for_namespace_category: assertion 'namespace_response != NULL' failed These messages repeat each time when Evolution looks for new messages. Setting and resetting the option "Show only subscribed folders" (or similar, I use Evolution in German) doesn't improve the situation. Using Right-Click -> Setup Subscriptsion opens a dialog. When I press the "Update" button, the following messages are shown at the console: (evolution:32320): camel-imapx-CRITICAL **: fetch_folder_info_for_namespace_category: assertion 'namespace_response != NULL' failed (evolution:32320): camel-WARNING **: CamelIMAPXStore::get_folder_info_sync() reported failure without setting its GError (evolution:32320): evolution-mail-CRITICAL **: subscription_editor_get_folder_info_done: assertion 'folder_info != NULL' failed I also tried on a different computer which also has Evolution 3.12.1 to add these IMAP accounts. This other computer never had IMAP accounts setup before. But it shows the exact same problems. Previously when using Evolution 3.8.5, IMAP worked fine. The IMAP server did not change, its still the same (Novell Groupwise 12.0.2 26.3.2013).
Thanks for a bug report. You are right, there had been couple issues regarding IMAP namespaces. That is supposed to be fixed in more recent version of evolution-data-server, the current stable version is 3.12.11, while the changes I think of landed in time of 3.12.9 released on 2014-12-08. I'm closing this in favor of 3.12.9 or any newer version, but please feel free to reopen, if you face it in that (or any newer) version.
