GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 726457
Epiphany does not render transparent background images layered with z-order on top of HTML5 videos
Last modified: 2016-02-28 17:09:07 UTC
Created attachment 272063 [details] screenshot As the attached screenshot demonstrates, Epiphany 3.10 does not render my background image on top of videos, though it does manage to render HTML text. Firefox and Chrome (blink) render this correctly, and Midori 0.5.7 does too. A bit surprised about Midori since it uses WebKit just like Epiphany, so maybe the bug is in Epiphany itself.
And here is the test case/simplified source you can play with: http://jeff.ecchi.ca/public/epiphany-726457/
This works in WebKit1 (with Accelerated compositing turned on), hence in Midori which still uses WebKit1 (I think). This is a WebKit2 bug, which I've just reported there: https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=130306
Hi, this appears to be a bug in WebKit. If you are still able to reproduce this issue with WebKitGTK+ 2.10.6 or 2.10.7, please consider filing a bug on bugzilla.webkit.org. (To find your WebKitGTK+ version, open Epiphany's about dialog from the app menu.) When filing the bug, be sure to select the WebkitGtk component (else the bug will likely not be noticed) and to use the prefix [GTK] as the title of the bug. This will help the relevant developers find your issue. If you think this issue is not a WebKit issue and was closed in error, please do leave a comment or reopen.
