GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 724467
Totem subtitle and audio selection during dvd playback does not work
Last modified: 2014-02-16 19:23:03 UTC
I just read http://noraisin.net/diary/?p=135 and decided to report a feature request that I have been waiting for a long time. When you start playing a DVD, I'd like to be able to switch audio and subtitle streams seemlessly through the totem menus, without the need to go back to the main menu and select from there, with might not be even possible in some rare cases. Almost every other player supports this for a long time already, including VLC, mplayer and wmp.
In Totem 3.10, you could already do that in the right-click menu. In 3.12, it's accessible from the header/title bar.
This looks like bug #673772
I just realised that I forgot to set the correct version as I still use 3.8 and waiting my distro to update. Sorry about that. I'll check as soon as I update. It would be super cool if it is working as expected!

I just tried it with Totem 3.8.2 and gstreamer 1.0.10. Languages sub-menu says "Empty" and Subtitles sub-menu has "None, Auto, Subtitle #1", Subtitle #1 is selected, but no subs are shown. This is the case for every dvd I play. DVDs I'm trying are mounted iso images on disk. It is not playing an actual DVD disc in that sense.
Right, so that's actually bug 673772. Thanks Tim. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 673772 ***
