GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 724108
Defined name is not recognized during link definition.
Last modified: 2014-03-04 16:37:16 UTC
Created attachment 268776 [details] Making internal links to some jump points isn't possible At first this seems to be a very very strange bug. I don't know how, but somehow some of my internal links in a .gnumeric file don't work anymore. The first sheet of my attached file has a demostration link, so you can test yourself. It must be somehow related to the calculation sheet "Blatt1". To make a smaller example file, I deleted this sheet, but then the bug vanished. You must save and load again, otherwise the bug stays there. I found bug 706671, but the reporter of this bug thinks it's caused by renaming sheets. I don't think this caused my bug so I made a new report.
There does not seem to be a link attached to the cell that says 'not working for example...'.
Ah, yes. I can't make links to this jump points. You have to try making one yourself to see this strange bug. Entering "Lotus" or "Renner" won't work, although they are listed there when you press F3.
If I create an internal link to 'Renner' or 'Lotus', that link works just fine. (I do notice that there is a problem with the tool tips, they do not disappear after we have switched sheets)
Created attachment 268884 [details] A screenshot of the bug Now suddendly all worked when I opened the file myself. But opening the file again, and the bug was there again. Maybe try to open more instances of Gnumeric at once? If you still can't reproduce it, I made a screenshot of the bug. Some details about my system: Ubuntu Precise Pangolin, running on AMD Athlon X2 64bit, Gnumeric version I tested this was 1.12.8 (self-compiled) and a version build from source I got here: https://git.gnome.org/browse/gnumeric/commit/?id=aa32a7c657ac1dcd188cdac905b9e4bf69fe5d74
Created attachment 269312 [details] [review] Fixes the persistent tip issue
Note that according the screenshot of comment 4, the issue is not that a link doesn't work but that while defining a link a name is not recognized as such.
Steff, which link does not work in your sample file?
Review of attachment 269312 [details] [review]: looks good to me
Jean, see comment #2. There aren't any links that don't work. There are links he can't create.
Maybe this is a little bit strange way to reproduce a bug, but I now downloaded the windows build of Gnumeric 1.12.9 and started it with wine. And tada, I had could reproduce the bug myself there. Maybe this gives a more uniform fundation. The file "strange.gnumeric" attached here should work, but I uploaded my original file, too. I just duplicated the sheet I think causes trouble, maybe then the bug appears more often. I want to have the option to delete it maybe later, so I uploaded it there: http://www.file-upload.net/download-8628128/HyperlinkTest2.gnumeric.html This file has the bug most of the time I open it, but not always. The buggy links should be in the fourth and the following sheets. An example for buggy links: 4. sheet, called "Horex", links in cells L29, L42 don't work Another strangeness: Clicking on the link in N36 in the same sheet gives this error message: Ungültiges Die Adresse »Regio« konnte nicht aktiviert werden: »Fehler beim Holen der Informationen für Datei »C:\Programme\Gnumeric\1.12.9\bin\Regio«: No such file or directory« A working link is for example N42 in this sheet. I thought maybe it depends on the amount of memory you have?? But only a guess, mostly its just wired. And if this bug occurs you can't make new links to specific goals and existing links leading to this goals don't work, too.
Hello, I have to correct the comment above. I wrote: > Another strangeness: Clicking on the link in N36 in the same sheet gives this > error message: > > Ungültiges Die Adresse »Regio« konnte nicht aktiviert werden: »Fehler beim > Holen der Informationen für Datei »C:\Programme\Gnumeric\1.12.9\bin\Regio«: No > such file or directory« I found out the link in N36 was a weblink, no internal link, as it should have been. So I made a mistake here, and you can forget the sentences I quoted. But the translation of this error message is not really helpful. My suggestion would be: Ungültige Verknüpfung: Die Adresse »...« konnte nicht aufgerufen werden: »Fehler beim Holen der Informationen für Datei »...«: Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht vorhanden«
I found a bug which matches the persistent tip issue better than this bug. It's bug #706659. I talked about this buggy behavior to Jean Brefort on IRC a few weeks ago, but I don't filled a own bug report for it.
Chances are this bug is gone with the recent fixed to expr-name.c
Yes, I think it is fixed now. I opened my testfile with version 1.12.12 a few times and this bug never occured. I can also confirm that the problems with sheet duplication in this testfile are fixed now.
Marking duplicate. Note: there are two issues in bug 725459. This is a duplicate of the issue discussed in the second comment onwards. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 725459 ***
