GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 722704
Ctrl+Ins does not Copy a selected file
Last modified: 2014-03-11 23:25:14 UTC
As the subject line suggests, I am used to select a file in one directory via Ctrl+Ins and paste it into another one with Shift+Ins. For whatever reason this does not work in current nautilus.
Thanks for the bug report. The keyboard shortcuts for Copy and Paste actions are, respectively, Ctrl+C and Ctrl-V. Can you test if they work? Is there a reason why Ctrl+Ins and Shift+Ins would be expected to work? Did they work on a previous version of nautilus? (If so, which version(s)?)
Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V do work in Nautilus. However, I tried to break habit of using them, because I accidently sent SIGINT to programs often enough by pressing Ctrl-C. By the way, in Gnome Terminal Ctrl-Ins and Shift-Ins work as expected (additionally to Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V) and in other applications, e.g. Gedit or Evolution, as well. I'd say Ctrl-Ins is the SIGINT-safe variant of Ctrl-C. :)
