GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 721687
Error if data path contains non-ASCII characters
Last modified: 2018-06-29 23:24:07 UTC
The problem is very similar to the problem reported in bug report #721576. If the path of the gnucash data file contains specific hungarian characters (e.g ö, ű, ő, ...) the gnucash reports a error ("file://E:\Magánügy(1)\P\GnuCash\Vagyon1.gnucash fájl elemzése során hiba történt" - meaning that while analyzing the vagyon1.gnucash file an error occured). I experienced the same problem with version 2.4.14, but not with 2.4.13 before.
Sorry: one closing bracket is missing. The corrected text is: 'If the path of the gnucash data file contains specific hungarian characters (e.g ö, ű, ő, ...) the gnucash reports a error ("file://E:\Magánügy(1)\P\GnuCash\Vagyon1.gnucash fájl elemzése során hiba történt") - meaning that while analyzing the vagyon1.gnucash file an error occured).'
I have the very same problem with portuguese characters. The file cannot be parsed is the error message: There was an error parsing the file file://C:\Users\Gilberto\Google Drive\Dropbox\Contabilidade\01 - GnuCash\01 - Book Produção\Financeiro_Beto_BR_Produção_XML.gnucash 2.4.13 works. Did not test 2.4.14 Moving the file to the desktop and renaming it to something without special characters (like financeiro.gnucash) works with 2.6.0 I am on Windows 8.1
I have the same problem with special character "ç". "Ocorreu um erro analisando o arquivo file://C:\Users\Renato\Dropbox\Finanças\gnucash\pessoal.gnucash." Gnucash: 2.6.0 Windows 8.0 64bits
Same problem with French accented characters in the data file path Looks like a regression of Gnucash 2.6, as was OK with 2.4.13 Windows 7 Gnucash 2.6.0
(In reply to comment #3) > I have the same problem with special character "ç". > > "Ocorreu um erro analisando o arquivo > file://C:\Users\Renato\Dropbox\Finanças\gnucash\pessoal.gnucash." > > Gnucash: 2.6.0 > Windows 8.0 64bits I tried regression to 2.4.15 and 2.4.14. The same error. Only works in 2.4.13 or older...
I've fixed bug 721576. Please try http://code.gnucash.org/builds/win32/trunk/gnucash-2.6.0-2014-01-17-git-2d97811+-setup.exe and see if it fixes your problem too.
Dear John, I confirm that the issue is fixed for me in this build. Thanks and regards.
Perfect... in GnuCach 2.6.1 works! Congratulations!
