GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 721608
Supported Platforms list in 2.6.0 README.txt dates from 2.0.x
Last modified: 2018-06-29 23:23:56 UTC
The Supported Platforms list of the README.txt file for GnuCash 2.6.0 appear not to have been updated from the 2.0.x README.txt. The information for Mac OS X at least is out of date. How to reproduce: * Download GnuCash 2.6.0 installer for Mac OS X to a Mac OS machine. * Double-click the .dmg file. A volume "Gnucash-Intel-2.6.0-1" appears. * Find the README.txt file in the root of this volume. Open it with a text editor. * Scroll down to the section entitled "Supported Platforms" Observed behaviour: The section begins with the phrase: GnuCash 2.0.x is known to work with the following operating systems... And continues with MacOS X -- PPC Expected behaviour: These lines should refer to 2.6 instead of 2.0, as in: GnuCash 2.6.x is known to work with the following operating systems... And continues with updated system information throughout, details of which I don't know. At least the Mac OS X line should read: MacOS X -- x86 Build date and platform: * Used installer at http://downloads.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/gnucash/Gnucash-Intel-2.6.0-1.dmg as of 2013-01-05. Additional builds and platforms: * Not tested on any other installer. Additional information: * 100% reproducible. * Does not require running GnuCash.app to reproduce.
Thanks for reporting this bug. I've applied a fix in r23674 though the README file should be updated not only about revision numbers...
A more comprehensive revision in r23675.
Thanks John for taking care of this bug!
