Description Greg Swift 2013-12-30 02:28:56 UTC
Background:

At work I have a 802.1x profile. At home i have the standard profile. Before the new system area menu I would see these wired network profiles listed under the network menu.

Now to switch between them I have to take 1 of 2 paths to switch:

1: Open Control Panel
2: Goto Network
3: Goto Wired
4: Select the profile I want

or

1: Select system status menu
2: Expand Wi-Fi block
3: Select Wi-Fi settings
4: Goto Wired
5: Select the profile I want

Before all I had to do was:

1: Click network menu
2: Select the profile I want

IMO if i have multiple wired profiles defined (optionally add AND network link present) there should be an additional network block that lets me select a different profile, just like I can select different wireless networks.

Hi Greg, the lack of control on wired profiles has already been reported as part of bug 708966 (see use cases in comment 15 for example). I'm marking this one as another duplicate.
