GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 721165
Hide the search bar when moving from overview to preview
Last modified: 2014-01-08 14:31:20 UTC
When I open a pdf document, a search bar is shown by default. That's not ok, it should appear only after clicking the search button or pressing ctrl+f or after starting typing.
You had the search bar opened before previewing the document. Right?
Yes.
So what you are basically saying is that the search bar's visibility should not be global but restricted to the specific modes. I am not so sure that is a bug in itself. I will let the others comment on what the desired behaviour should be.
> So what you are basically saying is that the search bar's visibility should not > be global but restricted to the specific modes. That's right. Here's my reasoning: I (almost) never use search in the preview right after I open a document. So in 95 % of the cases first thing I have to do when I preview a document is close a search bar which is annoying.
<aday> rishi, yep, the search bar should hide once you open a document
