GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 720160
Move Geary's help documentation into help.gnome.org
Last modified: 2021-07-05 13:27:52 UTC
In order to get Geary's help documentation into help.gnome.org, it appears we'll need to do the following: * License the documentation (preferably CC-by-SA 3.0 unported) * Credits for the authors on every page * Incorporate yelp.mp4 into our build system * (Preferably) make our help translatable (this could be ticketed for later) Additionally, if we want the docs team to assist with our help, we might need to make our build system look more like what other autotools-based GNOME applications do. We should get more information from the docs team about that.
4th point is already covered by #713831 (needs just to be verified)
3rd point should be read as yelp.m4 https://wiki.gnome.org/Apps/Yelp/Tools/yelp.m4 AFAICS the first 3 points are still to be done
I thought this could be interesting: https://blogs.gnome.org/shaunm/2015/06/30/mallard-documentation-sites-with-pintail/
Mike, I would change this to Build component (as it's the main task) and perhaps make it depend on bug #746548 or bug #777044
Yeah, this probably won't want to happen before Bug 746548, so adding a dep on that. I'll keep it on docs though just in case someone goes browsing through that component and doesn't find it.
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org. As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately quite limited so not every ticket can get handled). If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent and supported software version, then please follow https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines and create a new ticket at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/geary/-/issues/ Thank you for your understanding and your help.
