GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 717545
exclude directories from import
Last modified: 2021-05-19 12:48:49 UTC
---- Reported by shotwell-maint@gnome.bugs 2011-05-02 18:44:00 -0700 ---- Original Redmine bug id: 3573 Original URL: http://redmine.yorba.org/issues/3573 Searchable id: yorba-bug-3573 Original author: Vera Yin Original description: Joseph Bylund suggested on the mailing list: I find it convenient for the purposes of internet viewing to have “thumbnail†directories containing much smaller versions of my photos. It would be nice to be able to specify 1) a directory name to exclude in the library i.e. never index /year/month/day/thumbnails, or never archive folders with a .noindex file present (then one can just put said file in each thumbnails directory). ---- Additional Comments From shotwell-maint@gnome.bugs 2012-12-08 11:31:00 -0800 ---- ### History #### #1 Updated by Adam Dingle over 2 years ago * **Priority** deleted (<strike>_High_</strike>) #### #2 Updated by Eric Ladner 12 months ago * **Description** updated (diff) I'll second this request.. --- Bug imported by chaz@yorba.org 2013-11-25 21:52 UTC --- This bug was previously known as _bug_ 3573 at http://redmine.yorba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3573 Unknown Component Using default product and component set in Parameters Unknown version " in product shotwell. Setting version to "!unspecified". Unknown milestone "unknown in product shotwell. Setting to default milestone for this product, "---". Setting qa contact to the default for this product. This bug either had no qa contact or an invalid one. Resolution set on an open status. Dropping resolution
Is anyone working on this? All my screenshots go to the ~/Pictures directory. I try and keep them separate from my camera photos, but they still show up in shotwell.
Do you have auto-import turned on? (Edit -> Preferences -> Watch library directory for new files) If so, that would keep Shotwell from automatically importing them into your library.
Same problem with an Htc phone, thumbnails folder gets imported. Would be nice to have a way to get it ignored. (The Prefetences setting mentioned before won't help here)
This is also an issue for me.
I second this feature request. Even more universal would be a text string filter with wildcard support, e.g. exclude everything that has "*THUMB*" in it. In that way, the import filter would apply to files and folders alike.
