GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 712774
[PATCH] l10n: Update French translation
Last modified: 2013-11-22 20:22:00 UTC
Created attachment 260391 [details] [review] A patch to translate "Display Settings" message in French. "Display Settings" message is not properly translated. See the patch as attachment.
Review of attachment 260391 [details] [review]: Thanks for your contribution. However there are issues. Changing a po (and especially a msgid) with a patch like this without context is hard to review. GNOME translators use Damned lies (at http://l10n.gnome.org/) to handle this kind of situations. Can you please go over there, create an account, join the French translation team and submit your change? That would be much appreciated. ::: po/fr.po @@ +350,3 @@ +#: ../extensions/xrandr-indicator/extension.js:87 +msgid "Display Settings" … to this? @@ -350,3 @@ -#: ../extensions/xrandr-indicator/extension.js:82 -msgid "Configure display settings..." How did we go from this…
Sorry for the duplicate comment, bugzilla is having the hiccups.
Thanks for your help. The French translation team seems to use bugzilla.gnome.org to handle translation bugs. I've filed a new bug report with more details on proposed changes (#714987).

(In reply to comment #4) > The French translation team seems to use bugzilla.gnome.org to handle > translation bugs. We do. Making a translation complete is not a bug however, and for this kind of tasks I already explained to you above how we work. I'm the French translation team coordinator by the way, so you have to believe me when I tell you this is what you have to do. I know how we work. Now please head over to Damned lies, or send a mail to gnomefr@traduc.org if you don't want to go through the process yourself. Thanks in advance. > I've filed a new bug report with more details on proposed changes (#714987). The new bug adds nothing new and is the same as this one, hence I closed it as duplicate.
Furthermore, it seems that "vatairethibault" wants to change the original english string which we (as translators) can not do. He must therefore first write a bug report to the concerned software's developpers (as a suggestion because i am not sure that what he has proposed is correct).
