Description Hugo Roy 2013-11-08 11:16:15 UTC
Described here with screenshots: http://hroy.eu/posts/gnome-empathy-design/#asuggestionforrealimprovement

With the recent design changes introduced with version 3.6 the contact list displays even less connected people than before, hence making it less useful to see at a glance who's online.

When the contact list window is expanded (suggesting that the user wants to see *more* contacts) however, there's no change in how the the list displays, resulting in a lot of useless and ugly whitespace.

Something like a grid of connected contacts for empathy would be very useful, a bit like Moblin did in 2009: http://hroy.eu/posts/gnome-empathy-design/666x391-moblin_people.png
