GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 711633
Too much "Bluetooth" in status menu
Last modified: 2014-01-22 11:16:52 UTC
Created attachment 259220 [details] status menu screenshot I paired my phone, and I think the menu item names might be a bit repetitive, and the icons used confusing. The first "Bluetooth" should probably read "Bluetooth Tethering", and not have a "no network" icon (it's not connected, which is different from having a really really bad reception). The 2nd one can probably stay as-is.
Also, there is something else that's bothering me - why the microphone icon (and, thus, input level control) only shows up in gdm or when there's a bluetooth device connected to your machine?

Bluetooth is the network type (as we have Wi-Fi, or > Ethernet). Ah ha! Use the name of the phone instead of "Bluetooth", then?
Perhaps using the name 'Mobile Network' instead of 'Bluetooth' in both the system menu and in the control center would fit better.
