The symbolic icon used here is very strong - it should be dimmed. We fixed 'dim-label' to work for symbolic icons in GtkImage. See gnome-software or gnome-documents.

Also, the placeholder should be centered

I added the dim-label style class to the image in commit 0486666e006fb201632f8659d2f558dc10434a35, but I do not seem to be able to make the GtkListBox placeholder expand to fill the whole view.
