Description Bastien Nocera 2013-10-24 12:52:37 UTC
For use with git-bz, it's a pain to try and remember what the component would be, and which version to use.

It would be good if all the bugzilla products in the GNOME bugzilla had a "general" component, and a "unspecified" version.
Comment 1 Bastien Nocera 2013-10-24 12:54:34 UTC
See also bug 710801 for git-bz.
Comment 2 André Klapper 2015-01-03 22:36:14 UTC
I don't want to encourage even more use of Version "unspecified". I'd rather prefer if all products had a similar scheme, like "3.15.x" instead of "3.15" or "git master" (which means nothing for a bug report filed in 2004).

Bug 681607 might be a better place to discuss versions specifically.
Comment 3 André Klapper 2018-06-16 13:30:14 UTC
After https://wiki.gnome.org/Initiatives/DevelopmentInfrastructure , GNOME is moving its task tracking from Bugzilla to GitLab at https://gitlab.gnome.org/ as previously announced in https://mail.gnome.org/archives/desktop-devel-list/2018-May/msg00026.html . See https://wiki.gnome.org/GitLab for more information.

Hence closing this ticket as WONTFIX: There are no plans to work on Bugzilla.
