Description Luc Pi 2013-06-24 08:56:27 UTC
There is a single folder icon (theme-able).
We can set specific icon for individual folders (properties dialog).

I wish we could set folder icon recursively.
That is, from one specific folder all subfolders would get the same icon.

It could be a checkbox in the property dialog:
  [x] Apply recursively

Example:
for a project folder, I have an image subfolder tree.
I want to give them a special icon.
I can set the icon for each folders,
this can be tedious task if there are more than a few folders.
In addition, it must be done again for each newly created folder

GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version of Files (nautilus), then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/nautilus/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
