Created attachment 243842 [details]
Appearance of textbox after increasing size in Alt. b)

How to reproduce:
1. Enter a text with two words, size 12px.
2. Select the second word and assign size 18px through the floating on-canvas text editor.
3. Select both words.
4.
Alt. a) Use the size spin buttons in the on-canvas text editor to increase the font size of each word.
Alt. b) Use the size spin buttons in the dockable Text tool dialog to increase the font size of each word.

Expected results:
The font size of each word increases relative to its current size: Word 1 grows to 13 px, Word 2 to 19 px.

Actual results:
Alt. a) Both words get the same font size, beginning with 1 px.
Alt. b) Only the size of word 1 and the text field height increase, the size of word 2 stays the same. See attachment. (The vertical lines in the text field disappear when deselecting the text).

It's always reproducible. Using the official OS X build from UnconventionalT.

Adding reference to a related GIMP on Windows bug.
Comment 2 Michael Natterer 2013-05-11 18:16:03 UTC
I don't think that's what's expected, that doesn't happen in a word
processor either: select a span, choose a size -> the whole span is edited.
The arrows are merely for changing the number in the entry.

b) is a duplicate of the tool options interaction bug.
