Description Dan Williams 2013-03-27 14:03:12 UTC
At least some devices I have always reply with ERROR to AT+CNUM, but switching to the own-numbers (ON) phonebook and checking entry #1 shows the correct number. I don't think the ON phonebook is always correct, and I'm not sure if it's updated if/when your number changes, but then wouldn't AT+CNUM might be wrong too.

(I'm sure there's probably a SIM file for this that we should be reading with +CRSM to be technically correct though)

at+cnum?
ERROR
at+cpbs="ON"
OK
at+cpbr=1
+CPBR: 1,"16121234567",129,"004D0073006900730064006E0031"
OK

Yes, the modem is in UCS-2 character set and the UCS-2 string spells "Msisdn1". If other SIMs have "Msisdn1" here too, maybe we could use that as a check.

Moving bugreport to the new ModemManager bugzilla in fd.o; summarized the issue
there as well. Please subscribe to the new bugreport to get new updates.
