GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 696270
Main vs All contacts is confusing
Last modified: 2013-08-16 20:11:09 UTC
We now have a toggle for Main/All Contacts in the app menu. This is hard to understand for the following reasons: * It is hard to know what "Main Contacts" means - which contacts are these? * The "View" heading is grey and hard to see Suggestions: * Change "View" to "Show" * Make "Show" a darker color and indent the entries below (if this isn't possible, you could make it a submenu) * "All Contacts" should be on top, other entries should be below * Replace "Main Contacts" with entries for the different online accounts. For example: Show > * All Contacts Facebook Google Twitter For Google we could potentially have several entries, such as "Google (All)" and "Google (My Contacts)".

It confused me as well. Especially because Contact defaulted to "Local Address Book" after an OS update and no contacts where listed at all. I had to set it to "All Contacts" first, which made me wonder when a contact was considered "Main".
This bug has been fixed, since now Contacts show All Contacts every time Now, I'll try to get a showing contacts per accounts. But that's just an improvement
