Currently, neither the wildmidi nor the timidity plugins are ported to 1.0. This is a blocker for playing MIDI files (which Totem advertises as supported, as 0.10 plugins were available) and for testing bug 694811.

Prefered option IMHO would be to write a new plugin based on libfluidsynth, see bug #690892
