GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 695317
Pen must be used on current boot before opening GIMP
Last modified: 2013-03-08 22:37:58 UTC
I have found that: - Boot Windows - Launch GIMP (using touch or mouse) - Go to select your Wacom Pen as an input device. Finding: pen input device is greyed out. However: - Boot Windows - Use pen on screen - Launch GIMP (however you want) - Go to select your Wacom Pen as an input device. Finding: pen input device is available. I have confirmed on forums that many people suggest launching GIMP with your pen. I don't know if this would have additional effects but it would mitigate this issue. I know it's a minor thing but it cost me a lot of time before I noticed the pattern so it might be worth looking into. Photoshop does not have this same issue. (I am using a Windows 8 tablet with integrated Wacom Digitizer.)
Maybe a duplicate of one of the win32 bugs of https://bugzilla.gnome.org/buglist.cgi?quicksearch=gtk%2B+tablet ?
This may be a duplicate of 549839. In the last few comments, it suggests that it may be "poking it to life" but I don't see a confirmation yet.
Yeah, that's the one I was looking for. Used to be under the win32 component, that's why I couldn't find it in my usual saved search. Thanks for the bug report. This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but please feel free to report any further bugs you find. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 549839 ***
