GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 694946
Should have a way of clearing frequent apps
Last modified: 2020-11-16 07:26:23 UTC
We should probably have the Clear Recent History button in Settings' Privacy panel forget the frequent apps in the Shell too. Currently there appears to be no way of clearing that history.
2.8 Gnome Frequent gets updated when an application in Favorites is selected. Since it is already in favorites, why show it again in Frequent side of the display. That shows it twice. I walked through the ALL set of applications and this filled FREQUENT. There should be (must be) a facility to selectively purge items in the FREQUENT menu.
Typo 2.8 should read 3.8
Frequent apps are no longer shown anywhere, so this is obsolete.
I agree that frequent apps list is no longer relevant. So is the dash Given we can shuffle all icons around, including promoting one icon from a lower window to the top pane, there is absolutely no need for the dash. With one click, I have a page of icons, which I have placed in my priority sequence. The only thing remaining in the dash is the icon to open the pages with the icons. IT IS TIME TO GET RID OF THE OBSOLETE DASH. We don't need the dash to feed the panel.
