GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 693342
Print (bottom) prints to middle for 3-check pages
Last modified: 2018-06-29 23:13:31 UTC
Created attachment 235424 [details] Printing check at bottom prints to middle. When trying to print checks, selecting the "Bottom" position prints to the middle of the page. To reproduce: File>Print Check Check format: Quicken/QuickBooks(tm) US-Letter Check position: Bottom All the information is printed in the middle of the page, in the same position as the "Middle" Check position option.
I've played with the .chk files listed under C:\program files\gnucash\share\checks and nothing I do seems to make it possible to print a check in the third position. This is true for multiple check formats and my own custom format. GnuCash seemingly only uses the height field once, no matter how many positions are in the Names field.
It turns out this issue was introduced while fixing check printing on Windows (in June 2012 already). I have pushed a fix which will appear in the next gnucash release. Thank you for your report. Feel free to report any other bugs you find.
My fix appears to have introduced a new bug (bug 766200). I follow-up fix is cooking...
I have committed a followup fix to maint, which means this will appear in gnucash 2.6.13. You can already test the changes if you like starting tomorrow - using the Windows nightly build http://code.gnucash.org/builds/win32/maint/ - or on Fedora via this copr repository https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/gjanssens/gnucash-maint/
Reassign version to 2.4.x so that individual 2.4 versions can be retired.
