GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 692477
Notification icons menus placement is incorrect and different depending on the mode
Last modified: 2015-02-23 23:15:31 UTC
Created attachment 234340 [details] screencast If you are accessing an icon's menu from the "tray mode" (super+M), it will show up at the correct relative position but close the message tray (I suspect it shouldn't, until the menu is actually closed by clicking outside the message tray); However, if you access it from the message tray while the Activities overview mode is active, the menu will be positioned below the bottom edge of the screen (?), making it scroll needlessly. Attached screencast demonstrates the difference.
I would like to confirm this bug. I agree completely with the author of this bug report.
The bottom tray is gone in 3.16, and legacy status icons will no longer be mixed with notifications. (Status icon support still needs to be re-implemented for 3.15.91, but this particular issue will no longer be present)
