GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 692169
Keep current working directory in new tab/window
Last modified: 2013-05-14 11:09:52 UTC
When using the File menu to open new a tab or window, GNOME Terminal used to create it with the current working directory of the active terminal; this is no longer the case.
Works here. Have you modified your PS1 as detailed in the release notes (NEWS file for 3.7.0) ?
Indeed the profile.d/vte.sh was not installed properly, and I didn't change PS1. Sorry for the noise.
What are distros supposed to do here? I don't think users will read the release notes for all packages after a distro upgrade, and this is pretty much impossible to discover (even Google doesn't help here, I got here by searching for "directory" among closed gnome-terminal BZs). Why doesn't vte.sh already include the "export" line?
Ping?
