GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 691895
Install Updates button issues
Last modified: 2014-02-16 02:40:55 UTC
The Install Updates button in the Details has a couple issues: * The label when no updates are available isn't very pretty. It says "System Up-To-Date". That looks funny to me. * The button label when updates are available says "Install Updates" but it just displays the available updates. I think it is fine to not take immediate action. But we probably want to be consistent with the notification used to alert the user of the availability of an update. * "Checking for Updates" should probably have an ellipsis or a spinner or something. * Mentioned in another bug we should avoid showing this altogether if there is no network. How about something like this instead: Show a left (dim) label for "Software Updates". And show either: 0. "Checking for available updates..." 1. "Software is up to date" 2. "Software updates are available" [View]

It now always reads "Check for updates," see bug #720946
