Description Jamie Zawinski 2002-01-18 22:55:44 UTC
Typing into the font size field in the gdyntext dialog is hard, because it
keeps moving the cursor to the beginning of the line after most edits. For
example, it contained the text "410" and I wanted to make it say "490". I
positioned the cursor after the "1" and hit backspace - I ended up with
"40" with the cursor at the beginning of the line. Then I typed "9"
without noticing, and ended up with "940" instead of "490".

I managed to accidentally request a 4000 point font this way, and crashed
xfs!

I have been hit by this annoying "feature" several times and I always
forgot to submit a bug report about that. Thanks for doing it.

Note that the problem with extremely large font sizes and the
potential crash of the font server or X server has been reported in
bug #85103.

GDynText is dead. These bugs will not be fixed in teh 1.2 series, since the text
tool in the 1.3 series (soon to be the 2.0 pre-release series) rocks so hard.

Missed that radio button. Let's try again.

Reassigning to bugs@gimp.org so that you all get spammed again (oops! I mean so
that bug ownership is consistent).

I missed the radio button marked "Resolve" and hit the one marked "Reassign"
which explains the previous spam you all got. Sorry.

Dave.

re-resolving previously resolved bugs.

Thanks for spotting it Alan.
