GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 689493
volume slider in the sound panel doesn't update in realtime
Last modified: 2014-10-24 07:28:28 UTC
in jhbuild from a day or two ago... When I open the sound panel and use the keyboard volume keys to change the sound volume, I notice: 1) the sound volume changes, and I hear the clicking noise 2) I get the semi-transparent volume change popup on the screen 3) The volume icon in the shell is changing but the volume slider in the control panel for the current device is not moving. If I have a device selected and change the volume, it doesn't update in realtime, but if I change to another device and back again I will see the new value. Reading it is clearly not a problem -- just the logic for updating it in realtime.
Also, if one adjusts the volume outside of the sound panel drop-down and then adjust the drop-down the sound is sometimes pushed up to painful levels.
Also, why is this is Control Center section of bugzilla. Isn't it a gnome shell issue?

Separate problems go to separate bugs please. (In reply to comment #2) > Also, why is this is Control Center section of bugzilla. Isn't it a gnome shell > issue? Not given that Ryan's problem is with the control-center Sound panel.

Just confirming, still the case with control-center-3.8.3-1.fc19.x86_64 . The Shell 'panel applet' works fine, only the control center applet is busted.
Seems to be fixed by bug 738869
