We are aiming to have an highcontrast app icon for all apps in 3.8. See https://live.gnome.org/GnomeGoals/HighContrastAppIcons
A highcontrast sudoku icon was accidentally attached to bug 687302
The icon in bug 687302 is a 16x16 png...

same place where your regular app icon lives
Should I move the gnome-chess, gnome-mines and iagno icons into their respective modules too then?
