GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 688705
Keyboard backlight is reset to max value after resuming
Last modified: 2020-11-06 20:14:50 UTC
1) turn off keyboard backlight by echoing 0 into sys/class/leds/*::kbd_backlight/brightness 2) Log-on into gnome, then lock screen and wait until screen be completely turned off 3) Touch any keyboard key. Keyboard backlight will be reset to maximum value This behavior repeats for asus ux31a and macbook. Also note that if I reduce backlight using hardware keys it don't resets to max value after screen lock, but gnome doesn't save backlight state between reboots.
I can confirm this bug. It happens on Fedora 20 with GNOME 3.14 COPR repository, but also with prior versions.
