I've just updated my system to Gnome 3.6.1 but in fallback mode the sound-applet icon is invisible, in fact if you click in some magic poi the volume slider appear, here a screenshot

Does it happen with any of the other tray icons? The Bluetooth one for example?

Also my battery icon disappear random, in fact I get notification of low battery from an invisible icon.

EDIT: bluetooth icon is invisible too, I just confused with blueman.

If I set audio to 0 some gray icon appear... I wonder why all that space between icons...

I'll reassign this to gnome-panel. The bug is probably in either GTK+ or gnome-panel, as the code to handle status icons didn't change in either gnome-bluetooth or gnome-control-center.

This problem caused by a commit in gnome-themes-standard:

Reverting it solves the problem.
