GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 685336
Occasional crashes on track change
Last modified: 2012-11-02 10:23:06 UTC
Created attachment 225628 [details] output of `banshee --debug` leading up to a silent track-change crash I've been experiencing occasional crashes where banshee silently quits (no error message) when attempting to change a track. I cannot predict when it will happen, and the issue does not appear to be either with the track that is ending or the track that is beginning, as I cannot duplicate the problem with the same tracks after a crash. This has happened on Ubuntu 11.10 and Ubuntu 12.04 under Unity, Xubuntu 12.04, and Linux Mint 12.04 under Cinnamon. The crash finally happened today when I had the forethought to start Banshee in debug mode. Attached is the last few minutes of log showing what happened and the error that caused the crash. For you reference in the log, the track playing when the crash occurred was "Save Them!" and the track had just completed (or was within a second or two of doing so) when Banshee silently closed. The next track would have been "The Decisive Battle", but it is not mentioned in the log, so I assume that Banshee never got far enough to actually look it up. Both tracks are 128kbps MP3s at a sample rate of 44.1 kHz. Shuffle and repeat were both turned off.
Thanks for your bug report. What version of Banshee and what version of Mono do you have?
Package banshee is 2.4.0-3linuxmint1, and mono-runtime is 2.10.8.1-1ubuntu2.2. This is on a 64-bit machine running Linux Mint 13 (Maya) under Cinnamon.
