GIMP shows 1.3 GB file size for every JPG export

When I try to export a (relatively small) image into a JPEG file and I check the checkbox for "Show preview in image window" I always get a File size of 1.3 GB no matter where I put the quality slider.

The resulting JPEG file on the hard drive will be a lot smaller.

OS: Windows 7 Pro 32Bit German (GIMP is also set to German)

The attached screenshot shows my attempt to export a 320x216 RGB image with one layer.

This also affects the dialog for "Image / Image Properties" where it always shows 1.3 GB for the file size of images (even if they are PNG)
