GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 682517
Japanese language Problem
Last modified: 2012-12-15 07:43:41 UTC
Dear. Japanese environment, the number of tablet UI may not be displayed correctly. In addition, double-byte characters, such as fonts and brushes are experiencing problems with all display. In addition, only when I switch the dialog in single window mode this event is being reproduced. This problem does not occur in multi-window mode. Although the display can be done as a solution, rather than to en ja language environment, trouble has occurred in a place of the Japanese translation has been made properly. And have the same problem of double-byte characters in other languages. Thank you.
Bug triaging results: Which problems do you have with double-byted characters exactly? Are they shown as little squares? If not, please tell us, which translation for your Japanese original you expect. Could this probably be a duplicate of bug #657897 or vice versa? If yes, please mark it as a duplicate. An answer within the next 6 weeks would be highly appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you for your quick answer. I thought it was a general Unicode problem, which could be understood and fixed by a non-Japanese speaker. Also your translation is very hard to understand. I'm sorry that I can't help you. You might get help with the following steps: 1. Translate your problem into a more understandable English, please. If you have problems, then consider help. Perhaps somebody from the Japanese translators is able to help you and already to give you a hint, how your problem can be solved. You find them at http://docs.gimp.org/2.8/ja/. 2. Bugzilla can handle file attachments, even in JPG format. Please use this way to show screenshots, because it's impossible for a non-Japanese speaker to read and understand messages from a Japanese filehoster. Not everybody might be willing to open files from there and certainly not until a given date. (BTW 31 September doesn't exist at least in Europe.) Nevertheless thank you for your bug report and I hope I could help you at least a bit.
