GTK3 regression: cannot type directly into cells
Last modified: 2012-08-06 21:35:42 UTC
Hi there, since the GTK3 version (or at least gnumeric 1.11.5), I'm unable to type into cells directly. Pressing the Enter key does not activate them either. I have to use the GUI's Expression Entry Widget to be able to modify a cell's contents.
We need some info: What happens if you double click a cell? Which exact version of gtk are you using? (It obviously works fine for us so you need to provide us with enough info to identify the differences!)
Hmm, this is weird, I can't reproduce it on both of my machines now. However, I'm pretty certain that I am not on crack and that I've also experienced this before. When it happens, it just ignores all keyboard events on cells (including arrows keys to move between cells, but NOT the "Tab" key, for some reason). Then, after restarting gnumeric, everything works... "Phase of the moon" bug?
Ah and I'm using GTK 3.4.4 from Fedora 17.
This sounds suspiciously like bug #625687. IN that case after you have moved the selected cell using tab or clicking on the sheet proper keyboard interaction with the sheet should work again. Note that bug #625687 refers to the file history but that just seems a way of making the bug occur. Thanks for the bug report. This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but please feel free to report any further bugs you find. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 625687 ***
