Description ville.ranki 2012-07-25 10:41:49 UTC
Scenario:

Today i was copying music from network share, local pc and a usb mounted cell phone to a SD card, and also some files from phone to network share. The file operations take some time so the file operations window is being displayed.

After a while i needed to leave and take the phone with me. I noticed that i had 5 file operations going on, but there is no way to see if any of them is from or to the phone. I had to wait until all operations completed and then leave.

Solution:

Add a button, tooltip, or some other way to get more info about ongoing file transfers. Even "Copying foo.bar from SD Card to Home directory" would be enough.

GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version of Files (nautilus), then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/nautilus/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
